The White House celebrated companies making products right here in the U.S.

President Donald Trump hosted his third “Made in America” event at the White House Monday. The President and Vice President Mike Pence were there to take a look at the homegrown goods. Businesses hailing from all 50 states showed off their American-made products. Council Tool is showing off their heavy duty tools.

A family business going strong for more than 130 years, Council Tool was honored at the White House. They make tools, such as firefighting equipment and axes.

“It’s certainly very thrilling. We’re just tickled to be able to do that,” said John Council, President of Council Tool.

“It’s obviously a monumentous honor,” said Cameron Council, the Regional Supply Chain Manager.

Council Tool President John Council and his son Cameron said they take great pride in their American-made goods.

“We like the control of the process…people that use the products sometimes are in situations like a fireman going in and out of a building where their personal safety or someone else’s personal safety is at stake,” said Council.

The family said they appreciate the Administration’s support. President Trump told the crowd Monday it’s important to keep companies in the US and support the American workforce.

“You’re also devoted to one of the greatest missions on Earth, making the best products from the best materials with the best workers anywhere in the world,” said President Trump.

The Council family said they are excited to see a focus again on American-made products. They said they are looking forward to the next century of making tools.

President Trump said the country saw the largest increase in manufacturing jobs in 20 years. He also touted the lowest unemployment rate under his leadership in more than 50 years.
